What a great way to start December - the completion of the siding of the east wall!

Painting the south guestroom wall and removing the last of the scaffolding from the east wall happened December 1st-2nd!

We are extremely pleased with the choice of the two colours for the siding: For the top we chose a photo gray called phoenix fossil and for the bottom an earthy contrast called sequoia.  They both go so well with the forest green stain we chose for the combing and the melchers green metal roof.  The phoenix fossil highlights the beautiful wood glulams and decking while the sequoia grounds the tall lines of the house.  It was a challenging decision given the huge array of possibilities but the bold contrast and rich, natural tones complement and accentuate our custom west-coast design.

Now back to the issue of the leaking balcony doors!...

Mounting the eaves trough on the guestroom/balcony wall

Finishing up the sub-floor in the main floor living area and entry...

Time to start in on the venting/circulation system!...

Setting up the house for an impromptu Boxing Day gathering!...

buffet set up in kitchen... kitchen nook... inglenook set up for musicians... chairs for visitors in entrance...

tuning up... family and friends gather... including neighbours... meeting neighbours...

meeting family... having great discussions... and great music... and even dancing!

Thank you everyone for joining in our festivities!

Your presence helped fill the house with more positive energy, as well as help to warm up the studs!

We're also thankful that Birgit and Philip brought their wonderful music, turning the event in to a true celebration!

Philip, Laia, and Birgit play together!

A Teuwen family gathering,

was a wonderful way to end the day!

Perhaps we've started a new, festive-season ritual!
