Hanging an interior door is not as easy as it looks... - Since there is no threshold the sides of the door
frame must be custom trimmed to keep the top level. |

Even with a pilot bit you have to be careful to center hinge holes. | The finishing room is kept busy

Final sound proofing | Making trim from scrap
We
had to trim our door just a little because our jamb turned out a
sixteenth too narrow. Here is how we did it.

Banister required a 90 degree butt-joint. Newspaper is easy to sand off and prevents the work from being glued to the table.

As we finished little odds and ends before our break we refocused our attention on the wonders around us. Spreading compost revealed hundreds of little helpers and the shore beckoned us to come on early morning walks to the beach.

We spent the time from Feb.18 - Mar.18 to see to other things. Thomas spent a month at the cottage and I continued clearing out the old house and moving more in to the new house. It really is amazing the "stuff" we have accumulated over the years. With the realization that everything eventually ends up at the dump, we have now become more mindful of consumerism and therefore really limit what we purchase. For the items we no longer need, we will donate some to charity and sell other items in summer yard sales and/or on www.usevictoria.com. After moving our office to the new house, the last two weeks of March were spent engaged in business activities; we reviewed our business plans for presenting workshops, wrote scripts and video taped pieces for our YouTube Channel! |
